There's a generic, cookie-cutter quality to outdoor furniture that makes a chair or table seem just like every other chair or table. So nearly twenty years ago I began a little furniture company called Carolina Adirondack to sell a different kind of adirondack chair, legrest, side table, and garden bench. I put up a website, bought our first load of cypress, and off I went.
As the years went by and our product line diversified we needed a new name to better represent our products.
Fatpatio is the result.
Fatpatio means "unforgettable." (Just try to forget the name. It ain't easy.) Fatpatio also means "out-of-the-ordinary outdoor furniture," made to look good and give you years of trouble-free pleasure.
In other words, Fatpatio builds the kind of furniture we'd like to have around.
We still make the Big Meadows Adirondack chair, but we also offer a variety of lovely bonsai garden and plant stands, side tables, benches, and other garden and patio chairs. We use select cypress, stainless steel screws that never rust, and waterproof glue that keeps the joinery secure. Every piece is one of a kind, built to order especially for you.
Handmade furniture is never cheap, nor should it be. Each piece we build is priced to pay a living wage to the craftsman who made it, cover the cost of quality materials, and ensure that Fatpatio realizes a modest profit so we can continue to build and sell great products. We think that's a fair deal.
We take pride in our work. We care about the details. And we guarantee everything we sell. We want you to be glad you own a Fatpatio product.
So let us know if we can build you something special for you, and don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.
All the best,

P.S. Take a look at the last question on our FAQ page for more about the absence of photography on the website, a situation we hope to remedy later this year.
